Doubao (豆包) is an AI assistant developed by ByteDance, the owner of TikTok and Douyin. By user count, it is the most popular chatbot in China. It runs on ByteDance’s proprietary Seed models.

Availability: Doubao is designed for mainland China—the interface is in Chinese, and a Chinese phone number is required to register. For the rest of the world, ByteDance offers a separate app called Dola (formerly Cici).
