Udio

Udio — an AI music generator that creates songs with vocals and lyrics in any genre from a text description. The service was created by former Google DeepMind employees. Musicians use it as a tool for sketching and editing: you can upload your own recording and develop it further.

Important before subscribing: since October 29, 2025, following an agreement with Universal Music, downloading audio, video, and stems in Udio has been disabled on all plans. According to Udio’s help center, updated in February 2026, this remains the case. Songs can be listened to and published within Udio, but they cannot be downloaded as files. Later in 2026, Udio promises a licensed platform with agreements with Universal and Warner.

What It Can Do

• Song from a description. Genre, mood, and your own lyrics; full-length tracks up to 2 minutes 10 seconds.
• Extend. Extend a track with an intro, a new verse, or an ending.
• Inpaint. Rewrite a selected section of a song without generating it again from scratch.
• Remix. Create new versions of a finished track.
• Styles. Create a new song in the style of a musical reference—an uploaded file or a track from the library.
• Voices. Ready-made voices from the Udio library; paid plans also support saving your own voices.
• Audio upload and music and lyric editing are available on paid plans.

It works in a browser and has an iOS app.

Plans

Credits do not roll over to the next month. You can purchase an additional 100 credits for $3 or 1,000 for $25. Standard includes a trial period, and students get a discount.
